2025: What a ride. What a year.

Rebecca’s Private Idaho 2025 is in the books. This time, we weren’t just riding Idaho’s iconic backcountry roads—we were on the world’s stage as part of the Gravel Earth Series. The spotlight garnered interest from some of today's gravel elite: Matt Beers, Sofia Gomez Villafañe, Peter Stetina, Flavia Oliveira Parks, Whitney Allison, Kait Boyle, Becca Book, Zach Allison, Todd Hageman, and others. But the pointy end of the peloton is nothing without the weight of the spear to carry it forward in a straight line, and that's you.

As we continue to work towards incorporating a professional component to our 13 year old event, we also work to open opportunities for the masses to be recognized for their accomplishments. Come 2026, we will be unveiling age/gender categories to celebrate the hard work and achievements of more people than ever before.

As thunderstorms rolled through in the days leading up to RPI, we were treated to dustless brown-pow hero dirt, crisp mountain air, and blue skies. For the first time in two years, we were able to deliver a full Queen’s Stage Race, including a triumphant return to the Harriman Trail. Three stages spaced over four incredible days culminated in another unforgettable week here in Sun Valley.

Thank you for being a part of it all.

Your Private Idaho

Weeks ago, we debated the future of QSR, hinting that 2025 would be the last rendition of it. But something happened as we considered the taste of it missing from the mix of our week together, and it tasted like a salad without the dressing / pickles without vinegar / potatoes without salt. When we looked around: the smiles, the camaraderie, the stories of grit and glory stretched across three days, and it became clear that the multi-day format isn’t just part of RPI, It is RPI. So we’re reworking our approach to 2026 so we can keep things fresh and exciting, but we need your input before we just set out and make these decisions on our own...

RPI bears Rebecca’s name, but the experience belongs to every rider who shows up, pedals forward, and makes it theirs. That’s why we want (NEED) your input. So, before we're on to the next thing, please take our post-race survey and share your opinion on how we did this year, and what you’d love to see from us in the future.

A New Date, A New Era

One of the biggest changes in RPI’s history is coming for sure though: starting in 2026, RPI will move to the weekend after Labor Day. This brings about a myriad of opportunity, and we hope you agree...

  • There will be more affordable and available lodging
  • Camping availability is greatly expanded for those of you looking to lock horns with our incredible outdoors
  • Less traffic to contend with in town, on Trail Creek and Copper Basin
  • Cooler temps and quieter trails
  • Greater capacity for local businesses, volunteers, and bike shops to be involved in the action

We’re already hard at work shaping the details, but the truth is: this event isn’t just ours to define. It’s yours. So let us know how we did, and what we can do better. As an added incentive, we will be drawing 10 (TEN!) names at random from our survey results after this weekend and award them with swag from our sponsors, and even a coveted entry into the 2026 edition of RPI, so don't miss the deadline to take the survey!

$100,000 for Be Good

Perhaps the most inspiring headline of all: together, we raised $100,000 for the Be Good Foundation.

That’s not just a number. It means we're able to fully fund at least 10 RPI Fellows, support a thriving girls mentorship program, expanded grant opportunities, and deepen the positive life-changing impact of the bicycle by pushing these programs further than ever before.

This number blew past last year’s high-water mark of $75,000, and every dollar came from people who believe in the power of the bike to transform lives. We are enamored that our community shows up not just to ride, but to be good.

Thank You

This year, two wheels carried us farther than we could have imagined. They carried us through Idaho’s wild beauty, into new friendships, over finish lines, and toward a brighter future for others. For that, and for you, we are endlessly grateful.

Until next year—keep pedaling forward.

With gratitude,
Bike Monkey, Rebecca and the entire team at RPI.
