Our families need some relief, and we're going to give it both at Rebecca's Private Idaho and Truckee Gravel, where juniors can now participate for free, owing to our commitment to youth that has been inspired by our work with King Ridge Foundation, and started at Levi's GranFondo.
Juniors at these Bike Monkey events can now participate for FREE: Levi's GranFondo, Stetina's Paydirt, Truckee Gravel, and Rebecca's Private Idaho. Each one of these events has a unique character, but the one thing that will be the same is a field of juniors that get to come and experience their beauty and exhilaration without a fee. But why?
Food has gotten disgustingly expensive, and travel and lodging are over the top. Add race entry fees, and the model of being a kid in a family of three who wants to race their bike breaks down, and the whole sport becomes inaccessible. We've designed a model to combat that, and are in a position to subsidize the entry fees for youth looking to join the ranks and race with, behind, against, and in some surprise cases be discovered in front of talent from around the world.
In each of these events, juniors will be scored separately, in their own category of U18 competitors, and based on their race-day age*, grouped into U18 and U15 categories.
This is brand new to Rebecca's Private Idaho and Truckee Gravel, and we are ecstatic about being in a position to offer this to our youth interest groups.
For Rebecca's Private Idaho, you must use the code Junior$RideFree in order to have your entry fee removed, it is valid only if you are under 18 on race day.
For Truckee Gravel, there are 3 routes to choose from when you go to register, but you must select the "Junior" option in order to register for free. If your race-day age is not U18, your entry will be nullified, so just make sure that your birthdate.
Truckee Gravel takes place on June 28th
Rebecca's Private Idaho begins August 28th
