This ride hurt. It is tough doing it alone. Many of the trails and roads are washed out so I had to improvise my route on the fly. Amazing I was able to get the elevation in within the 62 miles. I am smiling now that I completed this race.

Fun day on the gravel, even in the rain. I really enjoyed the RPI Basecamp training that got me to this day. So grateful for the BEST teammate that took on this challenge with me. We completed the course in under my goal time of 4:30, so very happy with the days results. I will be enjoying my Pecan Pie reward!

The quiet corner of CT was beatdown with 8 inches of rain a few days ago. My dirt roads were washed out, pot holed, and a disaster. But that made all the more fun and adventure. I rode alone, didn't have any support. Just enjoyed the outdoors!

Today started pretty good. The gravel was very nice. My husband John rode with me , and he told me he did not want to race! So, we went a little slower in areas I would have gone faster. Then the wind picked up! The flats felt like I was climbing. Then the cramps set in. Tried to deal with them without getting off my bike. Slowed me down a lot. All in all I am happy with the day though!

First 100k ride and all within a 6 miles radius of home! Totally exhausted by the end. Found exactly enough gravel/trails that my slick 32s could handle...32 miles of offroad riding in total, including some new stuff right in town.

I’m so happy I made it back to the car before the deluge of rain began (my riding partner wasn’t so lucky)! It was a grind getting to the summit (I “had” to go all the way), but so much fun coming back down! I love how random strangers were giving me thumbs up and yelling kudos to me as I passed by. A very special day, indeed!

Modification needed for some of the Gravel. There was a barb wire fence on Indian Gulch...so decided to head back to Hornitos and add more gravel sections off Bear Valley Road. I think I did at least 50% gravel with some very rough pavement on Indian Gulch.

I had pretty bad conditions as we just received 4.5” of rain from hurricane ida so there were flooded areas and wash outs and downed trees on the singletrack. There was also rain today so there was a lot more hike a bike than usual on smiley Carriageway as it was slick and washed out- all the rocks were loose and exposed…so that slowed be down from about mile 16-19. But it was still great to be out on a kind of crappy day grinding it out!!

Beautiful weather, spectacular scenery. Hills everywhere and ran out of gears on most. Some great gravel, one rutty/stoney segment and a bridge out across and small creek (found an easy crossing). Great Time!

I had an amazing experience pushing myself SOLO!, no support. On my home gravel roads, this route is very back country. Coming fro. Such a small island in hawaii one has to get creative with the route. This was by far challenging!, thank you for designing the virtual challenge!, i had a blast!
